argh

can't go to bed until the election is fully declared. not that i really believe that cnn's predictions are reliable since the presidential election when it changed between the time i went to bed and the time i got up, but i still...need to wait. it looks like the house has gone democratic, and there are two states to go in the senate race, montana and virginia. virginia has 99% reporting but they haven't called it, which is odd because it doesn't look all that close--i guess they're recounting.

in other news, my toe has turned a lovely purple color but hurts slightly less, so yay!

i've joined the nielsen family

sadly, this does not involve a box on my tv (oh, how i long for the power to tell networks what is good tv and what is bad tv! seriously. call me nielsen tv people. i will not only tell you which things i watch and which things i don't, but also which things i would rather break a toe than watch- see, useful, right??), but i did get a nifty bar code scanner so i can report selected purchases. not a huge reward in it for me, and i'm sure my purchasing habits will mess up their calculations, but what the heck, it's only until june!
